The Office/Compliance department prepares, on behalf of our subscribing companies, filings for approval by the state Office of Insurance Commissioner. We prepare and distribute Circulars detailing the status of these filings to our subscribers. These Circulars are available in the Members-Only section. We work closely with the Inspection and Public Protection departments to process and publish the specific loss costs, grading and maps that result from our inspections and gradings. These are distributed by mail or electronically to companies and agents/brokers. We will quote Blanket Average loss costs based on submitted Statements of Values, Building earthquake classifications, Mechanical Grading of Sprinklered Buildings, and tentative loss costs for commercial buildings for use until a property can be surveyed and final loss costs developed. To better understand our surveys and other publications, a guide has been created entitled the Loss Costs Publication Handbook. This publication should be helpful in evaluation and comprehension of our publications. Rules and instructions for the selection of Group 1 advisory loss costs are provided in the Loss Costs Publication Handbook.
